A sower went out to sow his seed – Luke 8:5

Last time we saw more about seed from the same portion. Today our focus is on “went out to sow”.

The seeds are designated to be sown in a field that is prepared. The field is outside his house and he need to prepare it before he even sows them.

The time, money, talents and resources we want to utilise for the glory of God are our seeds. Before sowing them which means using them we need to know where is the field. A sower cannot sow his seeds in any field but his owner’s field only.

Our owner is the heavenly Father. The details of the field given for us to sow these seeds is revealed through His son Jesus Christ via the word of God and Holy Spirit.

We must wait in prayer to understand where we should invest our time, money, talents and resources and then only we can go out and use them for the glorious purposes of God.

Today’s reflection is to understand your designated field or ground. Then prayerfully start using your seeds for the glory of God.

Prayer

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me about the importance of understanding the field or area where I should use my time, money, talent and resources. Help me to recognise and then use my seeds. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen!
