15-Jan-2024 – Unintended plants will be uprooted

Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted” – Matthew 15:13

Through our daily meditation on the concept of the “seed,” we understand that everything we begin, no matter how small, is like a seed. Every desire to do good comes from the Father’s inspiration, while anything not aligned with goodness stems from the enemy. The verse speaks of a “plant,” signifying the growth from seed to plant.

This teaches us a crucial aspect of life. When seeking spiritual or worldly growth in alignment with God’s word, we often initiate processes that progress from a seed state to a plant state. Before these endeavors become significant, our Father, who is both our parent and owner, may uproot the plants that didn’t originate from the seeds He planted.

For instance, if we feel called to work for God’s kingdom and join others in preaching the gospel, it may seem promising. However, if God has a different plan, he may allow setbacks and lead us away from that path. It might result in a period of isolation, similar to Elijah before the drought. Yet, during this time, God has a miraculous plan for us.

People or desires that don’t align with our true calling will eventually be removed by God. Anything hindering our growth according to His will is eliminated because of His love. It’s akin to a parent immediately taking away dangerous objects from a child. Though the child may not perceive the danger, the parent knows what is best for their well-being.

Prayer:

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for today’s lesson. I now understand that not everything in my life is inherently good, especially if it opposes the purpose You’ve ordained for me. Help me recognize these situations, trust Your guidance, and remain consistently under Your divine leading. I pray in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
