10-Jan-2024 – Seed Principle 1, the seed must fall on the ground

And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes – Matthew 14:17

Today’s meditation is little deeper. God explains us the principle of sowing seeds through this portion.

Today’s verse is a well known verse. It was the context of feeding 5 loaves of bread and two small fishes to more than 5000 people. But if we allow Holy Spirit to work in us, we can observe few important points.

1. Seeds: seeds are smallest unit of reproduction. The 5 loaves of bread and 2 small fishes small like this seed. They are very little in quantity.

2. Ground: The seeds are kept in the prepared ground, so that the work of growth begins. Here, the call of Jesus to feed is the ground. When the small boy and disciples submitted to the call, they sown the seeds into the ground.

3. Fruit: The results that we are awaiting from the seeds sown. Here the loaves and bread multiplied. The seed’s growth depends on the nutrients it can get from the ground. Here, we learnt that the call of Jesus to feed is the ground. So that call provided necessary things for them to grow.

This brings out one of the very important principles related to sowing seeds, that we can practice in our lives. When we submit into the calling of God, He would provide the necessary supporting things or environment to establish and grow in the calling.

May God help us to recognise his calling and submit our small beginnings as seeds sown into the good ground, and witness and testify the supernatural growth in our life and fulfill the purpose of our calling.

Prayer

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for teaching the wonderful revelation about seeding. Help me to faithfully sow my small beginnings towards your calling. Now I knew these small beginnings one day would grow to fulfill your will and satisfy many, I thank you and pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
