03-Jan-2024 – Are you sowing on the wayside?
Luke 8:5 and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down.
Wayside means on the edge of the road. When a person sows his seeds in a field, he will scatter them by throwing. Some seeds may fall on the edge of the road instead of field.
Here field is the right and intended place. But roadside is not the right place to sow. If we imagine a worker who sows these seeds, he will know the boundary of his owner’s field and he should know where to sow.
In the same way, we belong to our heavenly Father. He knows the boundaries of everything in our life. He is the one who gives the seed to sow whether it is time, money or opportunity etc. But when we don’t invest them according to the will of God, we are actually making them to fall on the wayside.
If you remember Saul, God gave him the words of instructions to exterminate Amalekites. But Saul did not do according to the word. This is an example of wayside experience. In our life also, we must be careful not to do anything against the will of God to get good fruit out of our life.
Prayer
Dear Loving heavenly Father, thank you for teaching me today about the wayward sowing. Help me not to invest anything outside of your will. Give me your wisdom and grace to understand your will. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
