As soon as it was sprung up… Luke 8:6

The meaning of “spring up” is to come to existence suddenly. When a seed is sown, there will not be an immediate outward growth or evidence of outward growth. But into the ground the roots will slowly start piercing into.

This principle is same with spiritual seeds as well. When we sow our time, money, resources, energy and talents into the spiritual matters, the result is not immediate. The same way when the word of God is sown in our hearts through personal meditation or church services, the result is not immediate.

This is an important truth to understand to stand strong when we don’t see visible changes in our life even if we practice the spiritual discipline.

Prayer:

Dear Loving heavenly Father, thank you for teaching me about the important aspect of seed growth. Help me to understand this to stand strong when my expectations are not met in time or when the things are delayed. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
