16-Aug-2024 – God has planned a blueprint for you

Ezekiel 40:4: “And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.”
This is an instruction given to the prophet Ezekiel. As we know, God works through us to accomplish His will among His people. In this chapter, God chose Ezekiel to convey His message to His people. If we meditate on Chapters 40, 41, and 42, we can grasp the level of detail that God is interested in while conveying His will.
This vision was given to Ezekiel when the Israelites were in captivity. There was no temple, no worship, no king, no happy life—only bondage and slavery. During this time, God sent this vision to Ezekiel. By meditating on these three chapters, we can observe the following details:
- The 40th chapter outlines the temple structure, gates, areas for sacrificial preparations, and priest rooms.
- The 41st chapter details the most holy place and the altar. The priests perform the most sacred service to the LORD in the inner chambers, wearing holy garments that are not to be taken outside.
- The 42nd chapter describes the area near the north gate, where people can gather. The priests would meet the people there after changing their garments.
This is essentially a blueprint of God’s will for His people. From a New Testament believer’s perspective, the temple structure represents our physical being after being saved by the Lord Jesus Christ. Our heart is the preparatory place for sacrifices to the LORD, and the most holy area where the priestly service is conducted represents our spirit. In our spirit, we worship, interact with God through the Holy Spirit, and receive instructions necessary for our lives. The outer area symbolizes our social life, where we meet others. Just as the priests interacted with the people to convey God’s messages and help them spiritually, our social life should convey the message of the LORD to those we interact with, edifying them spiritually.
This blueprint represents God’s will for our lives in Jesus Christ, encompassing three key areas: placing our faith in Jesus Christ and becoming His temple, having fellowship with the Holy Spirit and being filled with God’s glory, and being a testimony to those around us for God, His glory, and His will.
Today, let us pray for the grace and mercy of God to transform us into this glorious spiritual temple. Remember, this vision was given to Ezekiel while the people of Israel were still in captivity. You may be in bondage today, struggling with your faith and spirituality. But God is conveying His will for you today. Now, it is your responsibility to prayerfully prepare yourself to align with God’s plan.
The details mentioned in these three chapters represent the various experiences, places, and situations that shape your spiritual temple. Therefore, prayerful submission to God’s hands is crucial.
Prayer:
Dear loving Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love and grace. Thank You for revealing Your will for our lives. Thank You for Your three-step plan to become Your temple, be filled with Your glory, and be a glorious testimony for others to know You. Help us to align with Your plan in our lives by settling in the place, position, and responsibility You define for us in the greater plan. I pray in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen!
