28-Jul-2024 – Walk under the light of the WORD

And he said unto them, “Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.” – Deuteronomy 32:46
In this chapter, Moses reminds the children of Israel about the character of God and their relationship with Him. He admonishes them to remember the teachings passed down by their ancestors.
“When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. For the LORD’S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.” – Deuteronomy 32:8-9
Today, the people of Israel enjoy the privilege of being established as a nation within a specific area, as God promised them. This didn’t happen by chance. God called Abram out from his father’s house and promised him the land to which the Israelites were heading to conquer. He blessed Isaac and chose Jacob from his children, transforming him into Israel and bringing forth the twelve tribes to represent a nation and be a peculiar people for the LORD. Thus, Israel is a nation created by God to be a testimony among other nations, pointing them back to the true God, the Creator of all.
The Law was given through Moses for the people of Israel to practice their uniqueness among other nations and to demonstrate their relationship with God before the world.
In our current generation, our gathering is similar to how Israel was gathered. The promise was first given to gather everyone in the Messiah for the LORD. So, God sent His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to this earth. Through Him, He called us to be saved by His blood, to receive propitiation for our sins. In this way, we are transformed into Christians, followers of Christ.
In the world, a person born into a family practicing a particular religion is often considered to belong to that religion. However, Christianity is not merely a religion but a deliberate acknowledgment by each individual that the heavenly Father is their Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ is their way to the Father, and the Holy Spirit is the leader and helper to walk in that path to the Father through Jesus Christ.
If you believe this, the most important thing you can do is love the Word of God, meditate on it, draw deeper insights from it, and align your life according to it. Without this, we cannot hear, know, and live for God.
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank You for Your love and grace. Thank You for giving us Your Word so that we can always remember how great You are. Thank You for calling us and gathering us in Jesus Christ to become a peculiar nation and treasure for You. Help us to know this truth and live in it, to be triumphant in this world infected by the devil. I pray in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen!
