14-Jun-2024 – The natural and spiritual realms hear Him, what about you?

But the men marvelled, saying, “What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!” – Matthew 8:27

Jesus Christ is the Lord of lords and King of kings. It is written that everything is created by Him and for Him according to the will of the heavenly Father.

In this chapter, we see how both the spiritual realm and the natural realm hear Him and fear Him.

“And Jesus said unto the centurion, ‘Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.’ And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.” – Matthew 8:13

We all know the story of the centurion. In today’s context, when Jesus says, “as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee,” the same thing manifests in the natural realm in a supernatural way. When Jesus said those words, the infirmity in the servant’s body trembled, obeyed, and left the body.

“When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick.” – Matthew 8:16

Here, we see that Jesus was casting out devils by “His word.” When He said to come out, the devils, which belong to the spiritual realm, trembled, obeyed, and left the possessed bodies.

“And he saith unto them, ‘Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?’ Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” – Matthew 8:26

When the sea was raging, the disciples were scared to death even though Jesus was with them. But when they cried unto Him, Jesus rebuked the wind, and the wind obeyed and calmed down. Here, the natural realm hears the Lord and obeys Him.

The natural realm, like the wind, water, and diseases, hears Him and obeys. The spiritual realm, like devils and evil spirits, hears Him, trembles, and goes away.

But are you and I hearing Him and obeying Him? Our Lord, at whose name everything in this whole creation trembles, loved us with an everlasting love and unwavering forgiveness and called us to be His children and heirs to the heavenly inheritance.

Will you hear Him today and respond with love and reverence?

Prayer:

Dear loving heavenly Father, thank You for Your love and grace. Thank You for teaching me today about how both the natural realm and the spiritual realm honor Your authority. But in my life, I have neglected Your authority many times. Please forgive me. Help me to realize that Your love is so great and it covers me from Your wrath. Help me to set everything right before the time runs out. I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
