11-Jun-2024 – Be in God’s presence to be renewed and qualified

“And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment –Zechariah 3:4“
In this verse, God speaks to Joshua, the high priest, saying He will take away Joshua’s iniquity and clothe him with new garments. Reading from the first verse, we understand that Joshua was standing in the presence of God and His angels, while Satan stood there as an accuser.
This teaches us an important aspect of a believer’s life: regardless of how negative the situation may be, we should always stand in the presence of God.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved – John 3:20
This verse indicates that if we are interested in sin, we cannot come into the presence of God. However, if we repent and desire to confess before God and be forgiven, we will indeed come into His presence.
When we are in God’s presence, the adversary tries his best to accuse us based on our sinful lives. But God, like a loving father, accepts our confession and, through Jesus, forgives us and removes the accusations against us.
Not only that, God promises to clothe Joshua with glorious garments. This means that whatever position Joshua lost due to his sinfulness, he will now regain, and God will qualify him for it.
Today, God is speaking to you and me. As believers, we may still be involved in many sinful things of this world. Anything that doesn’t please God is filthy. But today, God wants to give us a chance.
He wants us to be in His presence and confess everything that is not right in our lives so that He can wash us with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness – 1 John 1:9
Once we are cleansed from unrighteousness, we become new creations in Jesus, qualified to represent God in any capacity, as He pleases.
Prayer:
Dear loving Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love and grace. Thank You for teaching us today about the importance of being in Your presence in any situation and confessing our shortcomings. You are faithful to forgive us, renew us, and qualify us to receive Your grace again. Help us to practice this in our daily lives. I pray in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen!
