18-May-2024 – You are an ambassador of the kingdom of God

“And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” – Matthew 10:7

In the world, there are many nations. Each nation sends its ambassadors to foreign countries to represent them. An ambassador is an official role, authorized to represent the interests of their country.

Consider the Indian ambassador in the United States. When he speaks from his office, it becomes official, as if India itself has spoken. However, if a normal Indian citizen says the same thing, it is not considered official or valid. The reason is that an ambassador is an appointed person by the country.

In the same way, in this verse, Jesus appoints 12 disciples and gives them the authority to represent the kingdom of God.

“And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.” – 1 Corinthians 12:5-6

Once the Lord resurrected and ascended to heaven, He established the church as the office to represent the kingdom of God on earth. When the church speaks, it represents the kingdom of God. That’s a great privilege given to us. In the church, God created various offices to represent and work according to His will.

From a different perspective, the church exercises the authority of the heavenly kingdom in the name of Jesus Christ, who is its head. That’s how we become the brand ambassadors for the kingdom of God.

Our faith in our Lord becomes a testimony to represent the love, grace, and mercy of our God. Our perseverance becomes a witness among many, representing the mighty guidance and timely help of our living God. Our service and proclaiming the gospel become a witness, representing the kingdom not just in words but in deeds.

Prayer:

Dear loving heavenly Father, thank You for Your love and grace. Thank You for appointing us to represent the kingdom of heaven. Thank You for the grace You have provided to represent You and Your kingdom. Help us to live a testimonial life that represents You perfectly. I pray in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen!
