20-Apr-2024 – If you stand for God, He will surely stand for you
Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. -Daniel 3:28
Today we are publishing another wonderful work of God which is supernatural protection for those who truly and honestly stand for Him.
The verse above was a very well known verse. Even from our Sunday school times, we used to learn the lessons from this lesson. This is the courage displayed by three young men to stand for the LORD.
If we read 10 to 12 verses from the same chapter, we can understand that, this particular law was made to corner these men. If we do a deeper study, we can understand that there were many Jews. Any Jew will not bow down before any other God. Then why no one complained about any other Jew to the king?
Because, Only 4 Jews, Daniel and his 3 friends, were exalted in the kingdom with greater responsibilities and even better position than the Babylonian people. This thing destroyed their ego. That’s why they focussed mainly on these 3 young men.
These young men stood till their death. Actually they entered the gates of death in the fiery furnace. But God supernaturally did not let them die. The heat could not harm them. This stand not only saved them but gloriously published to the people about the greatness of the LORD God.
Nebuchadnezzar gave a testimony about the God and also made a decree not to speak anything against the Lord and the people who serve Him. Now, even the Jews who were living as slaves also were saved from the wicked plans.
If our practical life, many such things are there which gives us real tests. Few examples are taking bribe to do the work even though it is our job, arranging a liquor party to friends on happy occasions etc. If we don’t do these things, people will leave you or corner you mock you. If you could keep yourself away from these things for the sake of our Lord, then the Lord would stand for you to exalt you.
Will you stand firm like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the situations when your faithfulness to the Lord is influenced to be compromised?
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love and grace. Thank you for teaching today another wonderful truth from your word. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were great examples not only for young men, but of every age. Help me to have that level of faith to stand for you in the testing scenarios. I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
