17-Mar-2024 – Your Faith in Him Can Raise You Up Again
I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early. -Hosea 5:15
In Hosea chapters 4 and 5, God pours out a Father’s heart of pain and agony by looking at his child’s evil condition. He wanted to help him but the child is not in a situation to recognise that. God sends us today through these verses an important message of hope and restoration.
First, we need to set the context right to understand the message. Ephraim represents the people who are the children of God. Who had the promises of God with them. God’s hand was with them in their troubles and wars.
But now, they turned their ways towards the things of the world. Previously they looked up unto God for the supernatural wisdom, guidance and resources. But now, they look unto the strong kings in the world, their ways and strategies. For that they already started corrupting their relationship with the Law of God and the worship of God.
Even though the situations are not as they expected, still they are not realising it is time to return to their true God.
This is a condition almost every believer has to go through. When we are born again, we are really full of joy and commitment. We distance ourselves from sinful, worldly practices and strategies and we will try to live as holy as possible.
Slowly as days pass by, through relation, or a friend, or an experience, or a new desire or even through the evil plots of the adversary, we will slowly share our time to indulge in the things which does not really honour God. In our current generation, these deviations are very strong through the social media which is always near.
The whole idea of these distractions is to create a separation between you and God. When you slowly start reducing the time with God until you find no time for him, the adversary got you. In this situation, because you are a born again believer, you will go to church, hear the sermons, when God strikes with word, for some time, you will feel sorry and continue the journey with the adversary.
In this condition, God is talking to you today, If you acknowledge your offence of straying away from God, He will return to you. When God returns to you, he exposes the wicked plans of the adversary.
Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways! I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries. -Psalms 81:13-14
If you hear your Lord’s voice, and confess before him about your situations and failure, he will forgive you and not only that, he will enable you to conquer your situations and actually He fights for you.
Now you need only one thing, FAITH to trust his word and calling to come back and stand strong. We can hear the God’s word though the Bible. God speaks to your through Bible aptly according to your situations. Your relationship with him will enable you to understand that, the message is for you!
When you recognise your Lord’s voice in your straying situations, don’t hesitate but rush to your Lord who is loving, gentle, kind hearted and full of grace and truth.
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you very much for teaching about returning to you. Yes Lord, in my personal life, I strayed away from your in some scenarios and situations. Forgive me for that Lord. Help me to be revived today and to stand strong on my faith in you. Thank you for giving me another opportunity today to walk towards the blessings you prepared for me. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
