And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. -Isaiah 25:9

When we read carefully this verse, we can understand few important things. First, “it shall be said in that day”. That means, today is not that day and currently some situation is happening.

Second, “we have waited for him and he will save us”. That means, the current situation is troublesome and with whatever they have, it could be their strength, money, health whatever it may be could not save them.

Third, “this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation”. That means on that day when salvation is due, this troublesome situation is going to be finished. The people will be filled with great joy of God’s salvation.

From this verse, we can clearly understand that the people are awaiting the salvation of God to come out of the current troublesome situation.

For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. -Isaiah 25:4

According to this verse, we can understand that the enemy’s hand was very heavy on them. During that heavy time, these people were trusting the God that he would definitely save them.

Now the question is, “Do you have the courage to believe God in your distress?”. If you have this courage, you will see the salvation of God and praise him like these people.
