against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations – Romans 4:18

In this portion we can see how Abraham believed that he will become the Father of many nations. But when he received that word, he was already an old man and his wife’s natural ability to bear children was already ceased. But he believed only one thing.

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform – Romans 4:20-21

When Abraham considered his natural ability, the promise was an impossible promise to be manifested. But he was not looking at his ability or weakness, but was looking at the strength of God.

Our focus was not the story of Abraham, but can we stand by that faith in our situations? Abraham’s case was regarding child bearing. Your scenario could be different and my scenario could be different. But the principle is this – “If God’s will is to bless you in something, anything that comes against that, cannot stop it. His will enables us to receive it”.

One more secret to understand is, it is God who made Abraham to journey through various experiences to cultivate faith in Him. When Abraham displayed this cultivated faith, God was pleased to release the blessing.

In our case also, it is God who undertakes the responsibility of taking us through various experiences and scenarios so that we will learn to trust in him. As now we belong to the era of new testament, we have the cloud of testimonies before us. If we receive the promise of God, just trust him. Because –

God, quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. – Romans 4:17

Now the question to you and me is – “Do you have faith to trust God in impossible situations?”

Prayer

Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love and grace. You are capable to giving life to the dead situations. When you call by name, even if it is not existing, it must come to existence. Thank you for this revelation. Help me to trust you in any situation in my life. I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
