27-Jan-2024 – Holy Spirit is like a seed to bear fruit in you
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you – Romans 8:11
If we look at a seed. It will be all dried up, no life and perceivably dead. But when it is sown in the ground, a miracle will happen. A new life from that seed comes up.
In the verse we read today, Jesus was dead and buried. But he rose again. It was written, “ he that raised up Christ from the dead”. So it is God the Father who raised Christ the son of God.
Now he also tell us that if we have the Spirit of that God who raised Christ from dead, our dead bodies will be quickened. That does not mean we are dead physically. But we are dead in the original image of God in which we are created. Without connection with God we are dead.
When we accept the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross, we are actually putting our hands on the head of the lamb offered as a sin offering. Immediately our sins will be transferred to that lamb and we are justified as righteous. Immediately the Spirit of God who raised Jesus from dead, will come into us to raise us up from spiritual death.
Slowly it will make sense to us the love of God, the ways of God and the super natural abilities of God and everything about God and the relationship with God.
But this needs a consistent fellowship of the word which is like water and the relationship of Jesus Christ as out Lord and saviour then the seed of Holy Spirit brings forth all the ordained spiritual fruits from us and enable us with all the ordained spiritual gifts.
To sow the seed of Holy Spirit, we need to believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ.
Prayer
Dear Loving heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. You made a way in Jesus and you gave me Holy Spirit to lead in that way. Help me to grow more in your Spirit and be a testimony to your glory, Amen!
