26-Jan-2024 – Your prayers are like seeds

prayer of a righteous man availeth much – James 5:16
This is a well known verse. For many prayer gatherings we would have remembered this verse. Based on the theme of this month, a prayer can be seen as seed. The answers to the prayer can be considered as the fruit. Based on this verse, “availeth much “ means answers beyond our expectations.
But for a seed to grow there must be a ground and that must be a good ground.
The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous – Proverbs 15:29
To get answers the prayer must be heard. Based on the above word, only the righteous man’s prayer is heard. So the good ground would be the righteousness. But how can we prepare ourselves to be righteous?
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God – Romans 3:22-23
So it is clear that by our deeds we cannot be qualified as righteous but by faith in Jesus. To be more clear, our faith is the Lord Jesus Christ was born to virgin Mary, manifested the glory of God in the earth through his life and died on the cross of Calvary to redeem us from our sins and transgressions. On the third day he rose to give me the hope of eternal life in the glorious presence of the Father in heaven. Whether on this earth or in the heaven anything and everything is available for me in Christ alone. This is what we believe.
Then this belief gives us the gift of righteousness of God. This enables our prayers to be heard and receives answers.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land – 2 Chronicles 7:14
From this verse we can understand pride, not having time to spend with hours and wickedness are like the thorny bushes on the ground. These will overcome and prevent fruit. Which means, they will hinder our prayers.
So before you pray check your relationship with the Father. If there is anything you found wrong which can hinder your prayers, confess and remove that from your life. Then your prayers will receive answers beyond your expectations.
