30-Apr-2024 – He revives the dead and calls the things which are not yet existed

God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. -Romans 4:17
Today is the last day of the month and also the theme, “publish the works of God”. Today we will meditate about one of the greatest works of God. This is also a secret to live a fruitful and faithful life.
In this verse, it is written about the reason for the confidence of Abraham even though his situation was practically impossible. The reason is, “God can raise the dead and God can call something into existence”.
Let us check from the Bible whether it is true or not. Let us check the creation event in the first chapter of Genesis, we can observe the following:
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. -Genesis 1:2
In this verse, God is talking about earth. But if you observe, the earth was without form that means no shape; and it was void, that means no mass. That means, God is calling earth even though it is not yet existing. Because of that, it came into existence.
If you observe whole creation event, when God said “Let there be”, by calling it’s name, even though it was not existing till then, they came to existence.
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. -Genesis 2:7
Dust is lifeless but, God brought life out of it. If you consider the waters of Marah, it was bitter and no life in it from the perspective of consumable water. But God changed that to sweet which means life from the perspective of consumable water.
When you meditate the whole Bible, you can find many of these kind of example. From this, we can understand one thing. In our life, if there is a situation which is dead, God can revive. If there is a situation which is not yet there, God can make it happen.
Abraham did not have a son when the promise was made to him to become the father of nations. David was still a shepherd when he was anointed to be the next king. Jospeh was a normal boy when God gave him a vision about his position.
Today God might have given you a revelation about your position, responsibility or a blessing. Don’t worry about current situation at hand. Trust the one who can give life to the dead and can call something non-existing into existence.
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love and grace. Thank you for reminding about who you are and what you are capable of. Thank you for reminding these things so that I can have hope in my daily situations. We confess that our life is going happy and smooth only because of your grace and mercy. Thank you for being such a wonderful, loving God in our life. Help us to show the faith of Abraham in our life too. I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
