29-May-2024 – Your king provided a seal of authority to you

“And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews’ enemy.” – Esther 3:10
The ring of a king is considered a seal. Whoever possesses that ring has access to any place the king has access to, much like a privileged access card today. In Esther 3:10, we see Haman using the ring given by the king to issue a decree, making it an official command of the king’s court. This occurred in an earthly kingdom.
But we belong to the kingdom of God. Do we have this privilege? Yes, we do.
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” – Matthew 18:19
If two believers in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ agree on something, it will happen. Consider the Lord as the King of all creation. As His believers and followers, we have the privilege to bring things to pass.
“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” – Matthew 21:22
Here, prayer is given as a seal that can make things happen when accompanied by faith. Our faith in the name, power, and strength of God is the seal that makes our request an official decree of God.
An earthly king might not discern whether the power was given to a good or wicked person. However, the power given by our Heavenly King cannot be manifested without honest submission. When you love God with genuine love and devotion, your prayer can do wonders.
Today’s devotion provides a new perspective on prayer. It is not just asking for something you want, but it is the power given to us to make anything happen in compliance with God’s will.
Prayer
Dear loving Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love and grace. Thank You for reminding us today about the power You have given us in the form of prayer. Help us to practice this in our daily lives. I pray in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
