28-Jan-2024 – How are you sowing?

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully – 2 Corinthians 9:6
If a person has a field with the capacity to accommodate a hundred seeds but chooses to sow only 10 seeds, the number of plants that will grow is determined by the seeds planted. From these 10 plants, the yield of fruits can be obtained. However, if the person decides to sow all 100 seeds, the potential fruit yield would be significantly greater compared to the scenario with only 10 seeds.
Today, God is conveying a message to us regarding the seeds we sow—such as the time devoted to meditating on His word, engaging in prayer, worshiping Him, fulfilling our work responsibilities, attending to our careers, caring for our families, allocating resources for our family’s well-being, contributing to the work of God, addressing personal needs, and utilizing our talents. If we approach these aspects with restraint, we can expect a corresponding sparing harvest.
God throughout this month, talked about various aspects about seeds. Now the seeds we sow will determine the harvest. If we spend in the meditation of the word of God sparingly that means a 5 or 10 mins meditating in the word, we can dig the truth on the surface level only. But if we could spend as if we are hungry for it, or thirsty for it, God lets us to discover new truth everytime we meditate, that is abundant harvest.
Throughout this month, God has touched on various aspects related to seeds. The harvest, as determined by the seeds we sow, becomes evident. When we approach the meditation of God’s word with restraint, investing a mere 5 or 10 minutes, we may only scratch the surface of the truth. However, when our approach is characterized by a hunger or thirst for understanding, God allows us to unearth new truths with each meditation session, resulting in an abundant harvest.
Similarly, tending to the needs of our children, dedicating time to motivate, correct, and impart valuable teachings to them, as well as investing time with other family members to provide encouragement, share both joys and sorrows, and collaboratively analyze and rectify aspects of life to align with the teachings of God’s word, is akin to sowing. If we sow sparingly in these areas, our harvest will be limited. However, by sowing generously, we can expect a bountiful harvest.
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit. -John 15:8
If our fruit is much in the areas ordained by God in our lives, then our Father in heaven is glorified in our lives. May God help us from now onwards, to identify the areas where we need to attend more with a hunger for the results and prepare ourselves accordingly.
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, I express gratitude for your word. Guide me in investing my time, resources, and talents in the areas ordained by you, so that I may yield the best results in those aspects. Forgive me for not recognizing this truth until now. Assist me in aligning my life with this truth going forward. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
