28-Feb-2024 – Do you have interest to let God operate in that specific area of your life?
… some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter…Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them – Acts 17: 32,34
In this chapter we see the journey of Paul through Thessalonica, Berea, Athens. In Thessalonica and Berea he had people who new the scriptures but in Athens they are all gentiles and idol worshippers.
In all these places few people accepted the truth and gospel of Jesus Christ but there is an opposition in the form of Jews and reluctance and negligence in the form of gentiles in Athens.
If we try to go little deeper for a revelation out of this portion, Thessalonica, Berea and Athens represents various areas of a believer’s life. Like in Thessalonica we will accept the word of God, admonition of God in few areas of our life. For example when the word talks about praying daily, reading the word daily, being good with others etc.
But when it comes to traditions or religious ways, we will resist the word and revelation so blatantly. For example, a group of believers has traditionally interpreted a certain doctrine in a specific way for generations. When a member presents a new understanding or interpretation based on fresh revelation or study, there might be resistance from those accustomed to the traditional interpretation.
Like in Berea, in some areas, when we hear a new revelation or a new ways to rely on God in our practical scenarios, we will verify whether it is really Biblical or not which is very good.
Like in Athens, there are areas of idolatry. Our obsessions with somethings of this world. It could be anything that does not glorify God but at pleases our flesh. In those areas, when we hear word of God or revelations or prophecies or even an admonition, we will either postpone to react, or reject the word or neglect the word.
But still, there are some of those areas like few people in Athens, still believe and stand for the truth of the word of God. These small areas of life will make a big difference over the time and transform us to stand mighty for God.
But the key in all these areas is the availability of the word of God. In all these areas the word of God went some believed and some did not believe. So now the question is, “Do you have interest to allow the word of God to operate in that specific area of your life?”. If you allow, you will become a mighty testimony of God.
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you very much for your love and grace. Thank you for helping me to understand the revelation of this word and to think practically into my life’s situations. The key take away from this lesson is to let the word operate in my consistently. That word will change and transform slowly area by area in my life. Help me Lord to submit to the hands of thy Holy Spirit, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
