26-Feb-2024 – Do you have genuine and personal experience of Jesus?
But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee – Acts 26:16
This verse is part of the testimony of Paul before the king Agrippa. If we carefully observe the testimony of Paul, it contains his past, the transformation and the present in a genuine way.
He was a Pharisee and well educated and well known for the zeal he had for the Law of God through Moses. He was on a mission to persecute the believers because he thought the believers were blasphemers and corrupt the ways of God.
Then the transformation time came and he saw Jesus on his way to Damascus. It was a supernatural encounter of Jesus. Paul could understand that Jesus is not just a Jew who was crucified for some wrong thing but he was the Messiah who was crucified for the sins of the whole world.
Now he knew the will of God more clearly than before. His eyes were opened to see the mysteries of God in the same word, which once he got a doctorate possibly. He has now the experience of having fellowship with God through his word and the Holy Spirit.
When anyone asks about his testimony and why he is preaching Jesus, he has a clear answer. What about you and me? What is our past? What is our transformation moment? What is the key take away from that encounter? What is our testimony?
Whenever we ask someone about a testimony, in present world of believers, they will say about some pastor or prophet telling them about their future and how they got something through their ministry. But people leave the main reason for all these things. It is the Lord Jesus Christ who is the reason for all the prophecies in our life. Whether to receive them or to get them fulfilled.
Now the question for us is, “Do you have genuine and personal experience of Jesus?”. If you have genuine experience, then you will stand strong on the truth that God revealed to you.
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank your love and grace. Through the testimony of Paul, you helped me to understand the deeper transformation that one could undergo when they have a genuine encounter with you. For Paul you had to provide a supernatural experience, but for me it could be different. But a tangible evidence that I encountered you only. Thanks for your willingness to manifest yourself to us, even though we are worthless. Help us to stand strong for you, I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
