26-Apr-2024 – The Lord left the seed to prevent your destruction
And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha. -Romans 9:29
In this verse we are going to meditate about another great work of God, which is leaving a “seed”. The importance of that seed is very much greater, if we could hear and understand the words spoken by the Lord.
The word says, except the Lord left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma and Gomorra. Sodoma and Gomorrah are the examples for total destruction. A destruction beyond repair and beyond restoration. But the seed prevented that kind of a destruction.
We all know that the seed was Jesus Christ, as per the verse 33. But today, we are going to talk about another seed. But what is a seed? a seed is the smallest unit of life. A seed is the hope of future.
Most of us are born again Christians. But when we check our life, the relationship with God, the fellowship with the Word and Holy Spirit, they may not be regular. But we have a small fear of God somewhere down in the hearts.
Even though the flesh overcomes our spirit, and failing multiple times, we have a small feeling of guilt somewhere down in the heart. These small things God kept because of the reason we accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour.
This small sense of I belong to God, the small sense of something I am doing wrong against God is the seed, God was talking about. Except this seed is left in us, our lives would be destroyed beyond restoration.
This seed of the sense, that we belong to God through Jesus Christ is the only reason, when we read the word, the Holy Spirit convicts us and enables us to seek forgiveness. Because of this reason, we can seek forgiveness and change our journey towards blessing.
Today, you might be going through various failures. May be these failures are only visible to you because they are spiritual failures. Or they may be obviously visible failures. Whatever it may be, if you have a small sense of guilt that you did something wrong against the will of God, the seed is still in you.
When you realise this truth and nurture that in the light of the word and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, the seed grows and becomes fruitful to change your destiny from destruction beyond restoration to blessings beyond destruction.
If God talks to you today, do not hesitate to get into His presence and set the things right and let the seed grow!
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love and teaching. Thank you for the seed of the sense, that I belong to you. Because of that only, I am able to navigate in my life back to you and able to utlize the opportunity to set the things right to journey towards blessings. Help me to move to the next phase from seed to growing plant and then to tree. I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
