24-Mar-2024 – To have true Faith, you need true relationship with your God
ye are God’s husbandry – 1 Corinthians 3:9
The term husbandry is defined as, the care, cultivation, and breeding of crops and animals. In this portion we are compared to God’s husbandry. If we meditate about a person who own a field, he will set workers to prepare that for cultivation.
In this process, he will set first some workers to till the land and remove stones and unwanted material from the field. Next he will keep some one to water the land and make proper dressing to allow planting the seeds, based on the type of crop.
Next he will set some workers to make sure the plants are not affected by any insects, worms etc. Also if required, these workers will apply fertilizers and medicine to keep the crop healthy.
Finally, once the time of the harvest comes, again he will set workers to gather the harvest and fill int he barns for him. That means finally the crop becomes the owners. In between whoever worked for that will receive their wages accordingly.
In the same way, God owns us. He created us, He will provide for us and He will protect us. But all these he will do through various people. But it is not the greatness of those people. But it is the greatness of God who enabled them and led them to our life to accomplish something good in our life to praise Him and glorify Him.
If we know this relationship with God as our husbandman and we are his field, then we can have faith regarding our fruitful life. Consider an example, it is the time to spray the medicine in the field, the usually available workers are not available due to many reasons. Will the owner of the field leave it like that? No! But he will search for another worker and completes the works.
In the same way, you might be thinking to get your situation to be addressed by someone you know or in someway you know. When they are not available or not working as expected, we generally feel disappointed and discouraged. But if you know this relationship between God and you, you will wait for the next door to be opened for you, next way to be opened for you or next help that comes your way.
To have true Faith, you need true relationship with your God!
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love and grace. Thank you for teaching me today the importance of knowing the relationship between you and me. When I know that I am your field and you own me, definitely I can be assured that in this field only good things will be cultivated. Even if one way is closed for me in a situation, you will take the ownership of opening a new way for me. Help me to realise this and stand by faith. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
