23-Apr-2024 – The church is your incubator, school and university

“…Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” – Ephesians 4:13

This verse discusses the various offices and ministries established by God and their purpose. It is simple and straightforward: to be transformed into the perfect image of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

So, to put it simply, our calling is to eventually become Christ-like on this earth. This is the only hope of our calling, according to Ephesians 4:4.

God knows we are all unique, coming from different natures and characteristics. Obviously, the process to transform us into the same image requires addressing different aspects. That’s why the all-knowing God gave us grace accordingly.

“But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” – Ephesians 4:7

Not only that, God established various offices in the church to address each of our unique needs in this transformation.

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” – Ephesians 4:11-12

So, if we reconsider the fact that “We are called by God” or “We have a calling for God,” that calling is to be transformed into the perfect image of Jesus Christ, just as He was the perfect image of God. Also, Jesus was received by many people in many ways.

For some, He was a teacher. For some, He was a prophet. For some, He was a healer. For some, He was a miracle worker. For some, the savior. Now, as we are required to represent Jesus Christ, we may have to represent various aspects as per the need of the time. That’s why God established various offices and ministries.

For example, if you have a calling of a Bible teacher, your ultimate goal is to become like Jesus in teaching. How? With authority. For that, first, you will be edified with the ministries of pastor, apostle, prophet, teacher, etc., as per the need found by the Lord.

So, all you need is to have faith and believe and submit while you are in the preparation phase in the church, where God placed you. Walk according to the calling by submitting and cooperating with various offices of the church until God decides the time to send you to accomplish your calling.

This is the wonderful work of God: to establish the church as an incubation center, school, and a university to be born again, to be nurtured, to grow, and to graduate and become an image of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer

Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love and grace in establishing the church as my incubator, school, and university to completely transform into the perfect image of the Lord Jesus Christ. During the learning phase, I may not be perfect, but I am here to become perfect. I will accomplish my calling by the grace you provided to me. Help me to stand strong during the learning phase and live according to my calling. I pray in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen!
