19-Jan-2024 Can God corrupt the seed?
Behold, I will corrupt your seed -Malachi 2:3
According to the word how we get seeds to sow them in the fields?
Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) -2 Corinthians 9:10
Yes it is God himself who gives the seed and when it is sown, it is him that multiplies it. But in today’s verse from Malachi, we see that God himself is telling that, he will only corrupt the seed. If the one who blesses our seed to be fruitful says he will corrupt the seed, who else can help us? it is an utterly destroyed situation.
But why did this situation come?
If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. -Malachi 2:2
Here, God accuses us that we are not mindful of glorifying his name through our life. Our life encompasses everything that we talk, walk, do and think etc. Many a times we pray in our troubles and distressful situations, God delivers us as a loving Father. Then we will forget him and we will continue in our own ways. We are interested in receiving the blessings but we are forgetting that blessing is like a seed. It needs to be planted in a well prepared ground which is our life that is mindful of the glory of God. Then the blessings will be fruitful and we can enjoy them in our life.
Today God reminds us to turn back to him and cleanse everything that comes against the glory of our Lord in our lives.
Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your wonderful admonition. You did not want us to be perished by set our lives and enjoy the abundantly fruitful blessings by aligning our lives to your word. Help us to heed your word and set the things right in our life. We pray in the name of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
