18-Jun-2024 – God want to heal, lead and restore you

“I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.-Isaiah 57:18:”
These words come from a father toward his children. A father always loves his children. He may express anger and wrath, but not to destroy them; rather, to correct them and prepare them to walk a good path. Our heavenly Father loves us with an everlasting love beyond comparison and description. In this chapter, we see the shortcomings of the Israelites.
“Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks? Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these? – Isaiah 57:5-6”
Our heavenly Father created the heavens and the earth. He created everything: stones, streams, green trees, valleys, mountains, and more. However, influenced by the world, the Israelites drifted away from the truth and contaminated themselves with false worship.
“And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?- Isaiah 57:11”
The Israelites had firsthand experience of God’s miracles in Egypt. They saw His greatness when He parted the Red Sea. They experienced His presence day and night, His wrath, and the victories He gave them. Yet, they turned away from God, hiding their faces from Him. Verse 11 reveals that they knew God was watching and calling, but they closed their ears and eyes, choosing unholy fellowships over His presence.
In our lives, we too hide from God when sinful pleasures call us. For some, it might be gossiping; for others, gambling or other fleshly pleasures. These are like junk food, contributing nothing to the health of our spirit.
Today, God is calling us and declaring something important. He sees our ways, how we walk, and when we fall. He declares three things for us today:
- He will heal: Sound health means we are fit to accomplish what we were created for. Whatever we have lost due to our sinful, negligent, and reckless ways, God will heal us and make us fit again to pursue His will for us.
- He will lead: Once He makes us sound and fit, He will lead us on our path. God has always loved to lead His children. He knows our past, present, and future, and He knows the best path for us to reach the destiny He has prepared.
- He will restore: Restoration means giving back what we have lost. If I lost a lakh of rupees and it is returned to me, that is restoration. If I lost an opportunity to take up an important role but it is now offered to me again, that is restoration.
How great, loving, and kind-hearted our Father is! For the way we live, we are truly destined for death and God’s wrath. But because of His everlasting love, grace, and readiness to forgive, we are given chance after chance. Hear His words today and don’t close your ears and eyes.
Prayer:
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love and grace. Thank you for reminding me about my life. I acknowledge and confess that many times I have ignored your calling and warnings. I have closed my ears and eyes to pursue the lust of the eyes, flesh, and world. But I thank you for giving me another chance. I thank you for this kairos time. Give me wisdom and strength to make use of this opportunity to sit in the position you have prepared for me. I pray in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen!
