Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth – Isaiah 43:19

In our journey of daily devotionals, God has graciously unfolded lessons through the metaphor of a seed and its growth. Today’s message from Him is particularly stirring, centered around His promise to do a new thing in our lives.

God, in His infinite wisdom, uses the phrase “I will do,” signifying that the transformation He has in store is not yet present in our lives. The anticipation builds as He declares, “now it will spring forth.”

Imagine a seed lying beneath the surface, ready to burst forth into life. This is the imagery God uses to convey His work in our lives. As God addresses us, we find that the ground where this seed is sown is none other than the soil of our lives.

As we’ve learned previously, in any kind ground, the seed will sprout, whether it is rocky, thorny or fertile. However, a crucial question lingers – will it grow and bear fruit?

God, in His divine role, has done His part, sowing the seed of new blessings. He assures us that it will spring up; evidence of His work will manifest in our lives. Yet, for this new blessing to flourish into a fruitful tree, our role is vital. We are called to prepare the ground, to maintain it with spiritual nourishment and diligence.

Despite the blessings bestowed upon the Israelites, their failure to uphold a righteous lifestyle prevented them from fully savoring God’s gifts. Their journey serves as a reminder for us to examine our own lives and ensure we are ready to embrace and sustain the blessings destined for us by God.

Today, God extends His hand with a new blessing. The question reverberates: Are you ready to receive it? Are you prepared to allow His work to unfold in your life? Let us examine our hearts, clear away the stumbling blocks, and embrace the new thing God desires to bring forth.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart filled with gratitude. Thank You for unveiling yet another profound spiritual truth today. Lord, I recognize Your unwavering readiness to shower me with the very best. However, I confess that at times, I have not been adequately prepared to align with the magnitude of Your blessings.Today, I humbly ask for Your divine guidance and strength. Empower me to be steadfast in faith, that I may not only receive but fully embrace the new blessing You have prepared for me. Grant me the wisdom to align my thoughts, actions, and desires with Your perfect will. May my heart be a fertile ground, ready to receive and nurture the seeds of Your blessings. In the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I lift this prayer. Amen.
