17-Feb-2024 – Do you have heart to believe God beyond your expectations?

Published by Sunil Binkam on

Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard – Luke 7:22

If we remember what John told about Jesus during his Baptism time, he was confident that Jesus was the Messiah. That’s why he tried to prevent Jesus from Baptism. Because hee wanted to be Baptized by Jesus.

But now he sent disciples to Jesus to validate whether he was the Messiah or someone else. We don’t know the reason why John got this confusion. It was not clear but we could guess few possibilities.

All the Israelites were actually having some expectations about Messiah like a king, warrior, freedom giver etc. But Jesus was teaching and healing and moving through the places.

So the expectations were not met.In our lives also, being a believer of Jesus Christ, we will hear many sermons and will create an expectation in our minds, about the operation and manifestation of God.

But when something happens not aligning with our expectation, we will doubt the ways of God.In this portion Jesus answers and tells them about the wonderful works that are happening, according to the prophecy. And also tells them that those who doesn’t be offended of Jesus, is blessed.

For us also, God reminds us today about the same thing. Be not offended if the manifestation of God is something different than you expected. Our God is faithful God. He will not misguide us. He will not lead us astray.

Now the question is “ do you have heart to believe God beyond your expectations?”.

Prayer

Dear Loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love and grace. In our lives, when you manifest in our lives, it is upto your own will how you manifest. But we limit your capabilities and ways in our imaginations. But you are supernatural God and can do things beyond our imaginations. Help us not to be offended when things happen in this way. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen!
