16-Feb-2024 – Do you have willingness to lead someone to Jesus?

And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus. -Luke 5:19
Here we see a paralysed man. As he cannot move, few people carried him along with his bed to the place where Jesus was available. But there is no way for them to reach Jesus. But the people did not give up. They found an unusual way to reach Jesus. That is, climb up onto the house, and made some arrangement to let this man to get into the house along with the bed. Here, I feel like that paralysed man was very fortunate to have the determined people to carry him and a merciful man to let them on to his house top.
Here, both of these people had a desire to help this man in their own way. But their understanding is clear. Only one person can heal this paralysed man, that is Jesus. So the men who carried the paralysed man guided him to the place where Jesus is available. But there was another blockade for the paralyzed man and his helpers to reach Jesus, in the form of a multitude.
Now comes another person who owns the house where Jesus is preaching and teaching. He decided to help by giving them the way to reach Jesus at the cost of some damage to his own house. He did this because, he wanted that paralysed person to be healed.
This shows the willingness and determination to lead people to the true place of healing for their soul and body. In our lives also, God appointed many many people to come and help us in directing our paths towards God, in a situation. Because for every problem we have, there is a solution with God. But only thing required is, to go to him. Sometimes, we are bound by the situations and we are like a paralysed person who cannot move on his own.
But our loving Lord will not leave us like that but arrange the helpers to guide us and direct us to God via the word of God and various ministries of the church.
Now the question to us today is, “Do you have willingness to lead someone to Jesus?”. If you have willingness, you are blessed because you are partnering with God to heal a soul which is precious in the sight of God.
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love and grace. Thank you for today’s lesson. Yes Lord, in our difficult situations where we cannot move here and there, blocked and paralysed without hope, you are merciful and gracious to arrange the required help, guidance, support to come to you for the healing of the situations. I pray that you bless all those people who was willing to help me in my life in various situations. I thank you for them in my life. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
