14-May-2024 – The kingdom of God provides education and health

And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them: -Matthew 15:30

In any kingdom there will be focus on the basic needs for the people of the kingdom. Because, if the kingdom is flourishing, then the king can be happy and counted among the great kings. Today we will see two important such basic needs in any kingdom.

1. Education
2. Health

These three are very important aspects a kingdom to be called as a good kingdom. The role of education is to equip with the truths of the various aspects of the world we are living in. So that, we can take and contribute to achieve mutual benefit. For example, if you consider the education of for doctors, engineers, bank employees, public service employees, they will be taught about various subjects and finally they can contribute to the society in various possible ways and also they will take from the society to live a better life.

And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: -Matthew 15:10

Jesus was teaching about the kingdom of heaven and how we should live on the earth and how to get ready to get into the heaven. These teachings will help the believers to contribute to the church in various capacities and offices and experience the manifestation of the truths that they learn of God.

Secondly, the health is also a very important aspect of any kingdom. That’s why we have the medical system well established. Even God sent Jesus to heal the sick. If you consider the medication for any disease, the medicine has a power to overcome the reason for the disease, whether it is bacterial or viral and of any source.

As our lives are affected by two realms, all the physical realm related issues God will mostly allow through the medical procedures. But he can at His will perform supernatural healing only to glorify His name and save a soul. But our condition is an affect of the unseen realm, God will operate supernaturally. But finally, the point is, God takes care of our health both physical and spiritual.

Even now in the Church, teaching and healing are two important aspects that God established for the glory of God and to prepare us for the kingdom of God.

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: -1 Corinthians 12:8-10

From this we can understand how God gave importance to the basic needs of us. That’s why Jesus said, the kingdom of heaven is already come to you. That means we can experience the ruling of the kingdom of heaven in our life.

Prayer

Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love. Thank you for reminding about the aspects of a general kingdom and how the heavenly kingdom takes care of them in our present day. Thank you for setting up the church with various offices to nurture us. Help me to utilise this opportunity and be benefited and contribute back to the church, I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
