13-Mar-2024 – Have faith in God even you are surrounded by negative situations.
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. -Nahum 1:7
Nahum is a prophetic book about the destruction of Nineveh. Nineveh represents the opposite force against the children of God. The kind of things Nineveh brought against God and his people are summarised in this book.
First, imaginations against the Lord. Assyrians captured the people of God and destroyed Shomron. This happened after many years of Jonah’s time. Assyrians did not remember how God gave them a chance to repent and escape His wrath but, they were imagining against the children of God.
Next, Like a lion Assyrians attacked the people of God and directed their efforts to destroy them. (Nahum 2: 11). They shed the blood of the children of God (Nahum 3:1).
Next, they practiced witchcraft and influenced the children of God with strange doctrines and practices and wickedly contaminated the reverence of the children of God.
Now, if we think about out life in a practical sense, we have many situations in our life that comes in our way in the forms of people, situations, social media invitations to corrupt our thoughts and distract us to follow something that is not good for the children of God.
If you carefully analyse, the people or groups who publish the misinformation or wrong information which cultivates the imaginations against God, they do it purposefully. Even the alluring things in the current world through various mediums, their goal is to contaminate your mind make you a slave of the lustfulness.
But God is telling that, if anyone trust him in this situations, that means if they put their faith in him for deliverance from these influences, He indeed will deliver them. God will become the strong hold in the day of trouble, that means when your are stumbled amidst the bombarding thoughts, he will guide you. If the situations are coming against you, he will lead you.
Only thing that is required is, you must have faith in him. He will never leave you not abandon you in your difficulties. Always remember, God sacrificed his only begotten Son just to save your from the eternal death. How can he leave you in the middle? He did not leave the Israelites in the wilderness even though they went astray, but admonished and finally led them to the promised land.
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love and grace. Thank you for taking utmost care of our day to day life. You are mindful of the things that are happening in our life. You are observing who is planning what against us. You are in control to lead us through these plots successfully towards victory. Help us to have faith in you. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
