11-Jan-2024 – Seed Principle 2, The outer shell must break

Published by Bro. Sunil Binkam on

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit – John 12:24

This verse talks about another perspective of seed growth. The verse highlights that the seed of wheat will fall on the ground and dies. What does that mean?

The wheat grain after falling on the ground, it’s outer shell will be destroyed and it’s shape will be deformed and eventually new life springs up.

On the other side, what is the reason for this seed to have these effects? The ground. Before the wheat grain falls on the ground, no changes happened. But only after it falls and constantly in the ground, the changes in it will kick start.

If we take the example of investing time in the meditation of the word, our seed is the time and the ground is the word. The outer shell could be our inability to understand, demotivataion because we could not grasp the essence. But when our time consistently spent in the meditation, the word which is the ground will work and break the outer shell, life from the words you meditate will sprung up.

If we take another example of small beginnings of changing a bad habit for the glory of God based on the word of God, the seed is our small beginnings of change which is wrapped with failures, inconsistency, guilt and stress , and the ground is the word of God. When our small beginnings are nurtured in the word of God, slowly the outer shell of failures, guilt and stress everything will be dead and new good and consistent habit would sprung up.

We uncovered a new aspect in the seed principle, recognizing an outer shell that must break for life to manifest. This shell may encompass our lack of faith, failures, demotivation, or even the influence of family members or relatives. As the seed remains consistently in the ground, it undergoes a process of breaking the outer shell. When our small beginnings—money, talent, and resources—are consistently sown in the ground, that very ground initiates the breaking of the outer shell. The eventual result is the sprouting of success and life, multiplying and flourishing.

Prayer

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for teaching me about the seed’s outer shell to be broken or dead to actually see the life springing up. I understand now that inspite of my failures, I will have to be consistent in my efforts based on the word and prayer to see the transformation eventually. You led the Israelites also in similar fashion, thank you for teaching me today as a principle. Help me Lord to apply this in my life. I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
