09-Jun-2024 – Recognize and hear the voice of the Lord

After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter – Revelation 4:1:
In this passage, Apostle John, filled with the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, receives a profound vision. He hears a voice like a trumpet, the same voice from the first chapter that spoke to him about the churches. Now, this voice invites John to ascend through a door opened in heaven, to witness future events. This was not a physical experience but a spiritual one, where John’s spiritual eyes were opened to the heavenly realm.
A door signifies an entrance and a transition from one place to another, symbolizing the separation between earthly and heavenly realms. John was invited to enter this divine realm to receive revelations about the future.
Today, in our advanced world of science and technology, the concept of hearing the Holy Spirit might seem like superstition to many. However, the truth remains that our Lord speaks to us, guiding us toward our future.
The ministry of “Everything For Jesus” began through such divine guidance. The devotional you are reading was inspired by the Lord, who gave me 12 topics for each month of this year back in November 2023.
God might be speaking to you today, even if you don’t realize it. When you listen to a sermon, try to perceive the Lord speaking through the pastor. By practicing this, you will become more attuned to the Lord’s voice, gaining clarity and understanding, which leads to obedience and learning.
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love and grace. Thank you for teaching me the importance of identifying and hearing your voice to understand my future. Help me to recognize and grasp the things you convey to me. I pray in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
