09-Apr-2024 – make a joyful noise and sing for your lord

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. -Psalms 100:1-5
Today is the 100th day of this year. Today we will go through the only 100th chapter in the Bible, which is Psalms 100.
The Psalm begins by saying, “make a joyful noise unto the Lord”. Let us think that a celebrity was invited to an ocassion. When he or she arrives, how the audience make a noise? That’s the joyful noise, overwhelmed by remembering the greatness that they feel about their celebrity.
For us, the believers our Lord is our celebrity and indeed he is the only celebrity for the entire world. We must publish our overwhelming joy when we got an opportunity to enter his presence.
Next the Psalmist says, “come before his presence with singing”. When we think about singing we take it so easy. But just observe, if you want to sing a song, first that song must be composed. To compose a song, you must know something about the subject on which you are writing a song. In our case, we want to sing songs with joy for our Lord. That means we are publishing the works of God we experienced in our life via that song.
When you sing, “You are here, moving in our midst, you are way maker, miracle worker promise keeper and a light in the darkness”, you cannot just sing if it is not your experience.
But think if it is your experience, and you are actually worshipping in truth. When you shout with joy, you are convinced in your heart and spirit about the relationship with your Lord.
This act not only glorifies God, but also serves as a testimony for others to come and taste that the Lord is good.
Prayer
Thank you Lord for this wonderful opportunity to remember thy works in my life. Today I will sing with joy and rejoice and shout out loud for thy mercy and grace in my life. Accept my praises for all the good things you did in my life, Amen!
