07-Mar-2024 – Your Faith in God’s promise leads to it’s fulfilment.

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. -Luke 2:26
This portion talks about a person called, Simeon. God revealed to him through Holy Spirit that, he would not die until he sees the Christ. Now, if we mediate on this verse and the context, Simeon does not know how this gets fulfilled.
He might have turn the scriptures, particularly to the books of the prophets. He could not understand anything. Otherwise, he would have already gone to the manger to see the baby Jesus. We can understand that because it was just 8 days since the birth of our Lord. Jerusalem is just 8 to 9 kms away and the shepherds published the birth of the Lord in and around Bethlehem.
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: -Luke 2:29
By this verse, we can understand he was in his good old age and waiting to leave the earth. But he believed the word of God. His zeal was to see the salvation to the nation of Israel as prophesied in the Bible.
He did not know anything but the Spirit (Holy Spirit) brought him to the temple. That means God created an opportunity there to fulfil the promise. In Simeon’s case it is to see the Christ before he dies.
But in our case, God might have promised something else. He might have promised that you would serve him in new places, or he might have promised that you will support the ministry in various ways or anything else. But your current situation is far beyond to even think of that promise coming true.
Because, you don’t have resources, you might be still struggling with spiritual discipline issues, you might be buried deep into the responsibilities which are beyond your capability to finish. Whatever it may be, if God promised, it will happen.
He enables us to accomplish and he creates the opportunity to accomplish. To create resources he may give you an unexpected opening in your job or business to see good profits and increase. He would create opportunity to fulfil your responsibilities in a supernatural way. For example, Solomon was given with the responsibility to build the temple. But God enabled David and people around Solomon to gather the required resources, so that Solomon could fulfil his responsibility.
Even now, if you are worried about your current situation and thinking about the seemingly impossible future plan that God revealed to you, you need not to worry! The times are in our Lord’s control. Be assured and praise him and exalt him.
Prayer
Dear Loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love and grace. Yes Lord, when you talk to us through your word and reveal us your plans for our future, many a times, we will look at our current situations and will fail to believe and have faith. But though today’s lesson, you reminded me the truth. Thank you Lord, help me to trust you regarding the revealed plans in my life, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
