06-May-2024 – The kingdom of God is not just words but the power
For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. -1 Corinthians 4:20
In the world when two people of groups have some dispute, they will fight verbally citing many advantages and strong points they have. For example, one of the parties may say, “do you know who is on my side?” Or “I know the key people who can put you in your place”, etc. Everyone knows it is just to show off but in reality no one will come in support in their matter.
But we belong to the kingdom of God. The kingdom does not deal the things with mere words but in power. Today we will learn from few scenarios how the power of the kingdom operates in our life.
Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. -John 4:48
In this verse our focus is on the signs and wonders. The kingdom of God operates in our life through various signs and wonders. These signs and wonders enables us to understand and realise what kind of God we belong to.
In John 4:49,50 Jesus told the noble man to go on his way back home and he would have his child lives. Now if you see it is not just a word Jesus spoke but it is the word with authority. The word of Jesus has the authority to release the soul back to the body to revive from death.
This is what Abraham believed according to Romans 4: 19,20. He knew that he was old and Sarah was old, and on top of that, her reproductive system also stopped functioning. But he believed in the power of God, which can make the dead things to live again.
When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. -John 6:12
Here in this scenario, the number of people to be fed are in thousands. But the resources are available for only one person. But Jesus demonstrated the power of the kingdom of God by supernaturally multiplying the resources more than the actual need. Another kind the power of the kingdom of God operates in our life is creation power. Here also, Jesus did not just spoke the words, but demonstrated the power of kingdom.
And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. -Matthew 10:1
Now the best part is the availability of the power of the kingdom of God to the faithful believers, in the name of Jesus. Again, it is not just calling the name of Jesus but with authority we have in his name. We are authorized to use His name against all unclean things to rebuke, castoff, and destroy.
We are all waiting for the glorious day of our Lord’s return and taking us away to be with Him in His kingdom. But today God is reminding that, the kingdom God is with you now. How? in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the resources, power of the kingdom of God is available for us in practical life.

Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for your love. Thank you for teaching today about the power of the kingdom of God. It is not just saying words, it is not theory. But it is the truth and experiencing the truth. To experience the power of the kingdom, first I should believe and have faith. Help me to know, believe and operate in the authority given to me in the name of Jesus Christ. I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
