06-Jun-2024 – Go away from dead works

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” – Revelation 3:6
This church surprisingly had nothing good to acknowledge. The Lord directly highlighted their problem.
Although this church performs works for the Lord, like any other church, they lack life. Their works are not based on the word of God.
For example, on social media or various Christian broadcasting channels, you may see personal defamatory content, ear-pleasing messages, and politically motivated prophecies. They conduct these activities on a well-planned schedule, as if they are doing the work of God. However, these are dead works, which neither have life nor give life.
Yet, God sees a few things that still align with His word. However, the church’s priorities are shifting, leading them towards a complete deviation from their calling.
Therefore, God warns them to remember their initial commitment and understanding of life with Him. They need to recall how they accepted, started, and received the doctrine and guidance from the Lord.
Despite this, God acknowledges the small group of people in the highly contaminated church who are walking without being defiled. He appreciates them.
In our personal lives, even though we may have basic good works like reading the word, praying, worshiping, and serving in the church, we might also be involved in non-biblical, lifeless matters as if they are our main objectives.
Today, God encourages us to turn away from these dead works, return to our roots, and be restored.
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank You for Your love and grace. Thank You for teaching us today about the importance of discerning whether we are focusing on the life-giving words or on lifeless, useless, and meaningless things. Help us to examine ourselves and make corrections. I pray in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
