04-May-2024 – Your King is above all
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: -Colossians 1:16
I love this verse in particular because, this is the verse which is the base verse for my ministry under the name, “Everything For Jesus”. For Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords.
In this verse, we can see that the creation is divided into two categories. Heavenly creation and earthly creation. In the Bible, the earthly creation only was mentioned. But there is a heavenly creation.
Also, this verse talks about two categories of things in a different perspective, that is things which are seen and things which are not seen. These two categories are having the four subcategories.
That means, visible thrones and invisible thrones, visible dominions and invisible dominions, visible principalities and invisible principalities and finally visible powers and invisible powers. All these things were created by him and for him means, for the Son.
If you consider an empire, there will be smaller kingdoms which comes under the empire and all the rules and laws are governed by the empire. In the same way, God has the final control on all these authorities whether it is in the seen realm or the unseen realm.
When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. -Luke 8:28
If you consider this verse, when Jesus went the evil spirit was talking like this. When Jesus did not intervene, the legion spirit was tormenting him, oppressing him and enslaved him. But when Jesus Christ went there, immediately the unseen power or dominion in the man’s life was speaking out loud confessing who is Jesus and submitted to His command.
From this we can clearly see that the ultimate authority lies with the Son of God, who is Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Now, we being His people, if we are going through any kind of difficult situation or an oppression or a negative situation, until Jesus intervene, the situation will be stronger. But once Jesus intervenes, the situations have to bow their heads before Jesus.
One more thing to observe for the above portion is, the evil spirits knew who was Jesus and told out loud, “Jesus, thou Son of God most high”. So the evil spirits knew who was the ultimate supreme of this whole creation. They also know their boundary.
Can you imagine and believe that, the authority of Jesus Christ is utlized for our well being and salvation on this earth. If you believe in Jesus Christ, you are in the kingdom of the most high. If you are in his kingdom, there is no other power, authority, dominion or a principality that can stand against you.
How wonderful it is to remember that the King of kings and Lord of lords, utilizes his authority to protect you, to sustain you and to take yo to be with him forever.
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you fro your love and grace. Thank you for reminding us about your authority, power over everything that is seen and unseen. Thank you for utilizing your glory and authority for my welfare. I am not worthy but you loved. Thank you for these words and help us to live a life of heavenly citizens. I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
