O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. -Psalms 95:6-7
The book of Psalms is a blessing of God and resonates in every moment of our life even today. This Psalm encourages the believer to worship the Lord. It even teaches us how to worship.
O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. -Psalms 95:1
First point for our worship is, He is our LORD and He is our rock of salvation. When you see “LORD” in all capital letters, it denotes the name of the God which is “I am or the existing one”. When can you mean that meaning in our life? When you knew that the LORD is always with you. When you walk in the right path, He encourages you with good things, when you go astray, he will bring you back with loving corrective actions, when you are down, he will motivate you and revive you, if you are in a dead-end of a situation, he is still there to make a new way. If you have this experience, then you can publish the truth that the LORD is your God.
In your life battles whether it is related to health, family issues, finances, career, aspirations or in ministry, and whatever it may be, when you are fighting in adverse situations, if you experience him as your rock of salvation, protecting you from being consumed in those situations, you can publish that truth with songs and joyful noise and shoutings.
How can you experience the these characters of God in your life? you need faith in Him. Last month God spoken to us regarding faith in a variety of scenarios. How can you have faith? by hearing His word. What word of God? The word sent by God through the church you are a member of, the word you read in your daily portion, the word you meditated because of a burden in our heart to meditate it, all these words are sent by God in your situations, to speak to you about handling your situations.
In the verse of our devotional, the call was given to worship. What is worship? accepting the character, nature and works and publishing them with confidence and joy. When you publish the works of God in worship, you are actually declaring in your physical realm and also in the invisible spiritual realm. When worship like that, your spirit will be tuned in with the spirit of God and the influence of the evil spirits will be broken.
That’s why true worship many a times paves a path for supernatural encounters with God. These experiences are not only for well known and scholarly men of God having big big ministries, but to every person who receives the gospel of their salvation through Jesus Christ. It is our privilege from the time when we are born again.
That’s why when you remember the worship pattern of Israelites in the old testament, they always start declaring the greatness, strength and love of God from the time of calling Abraham, bringing them out of Egypt and so on. There is a power in the worship that is based on experienced nature of God in our personal life.
Worship that publishes the personally experienced works of God is powerful!
Prayer
Dear loving heavenly Father, thank you for reminding us today about the power of publishing your works, that I experienced in my life through my worship. When I remember what you have done in my life and acknowledge them in my worship, I am solidifying my ground to stand in any situations. Thank you for reminding me this powerful and practical way to live a victorious life on this earth. Help me to get this truth digested and let it become a natural habit to worship you by calling out your works in my life. I pray in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
